Tuesday Night comes down to the final 4 drivers for the championship. Pat Armstrong, Darrell Hudlemeyer, Ricky Thompson, and Eddie Young. Each took a different path to get here.
Pat Armstrong won 9 races throughout the season basically dominating the competition. With an average finish of 5.24 in 35 races with 2 provisionals. His worst finish was 17 at Bristol in the spring race. He finished in the top 10 29 times out of the 33 starts and top 5 20 times. He had an average incident count of 4.36 per race. He has led 1050 laps and had 19 poles.
Darrell Hudlemeyer took a different path to the final 4. Darrell also plays ball during the summer months so he didn’t get to run the full races as much. Darrell had 4 wins and his average finish was still impressive with a 12.67 average 12 top 10 and 8 top 5’s. He led 322 laps throughout the season. Darrell had a incident cout of 9.39 per race.
Ricky Thompson won 1 race at Talladega in the Chase. I know personally he was disappointed not having more wins this season. Ricky’s average finish was 6.12. He finished in the top 10 29 times and top 5 19. He led 191 laps and had a incident count of 4.79 per race. Ricky’s worst finish was 19 at Darlington.
Eddie Young was only able to make 29 and didn’t get any wins but got in on his consistency. He had a average finish of 10.21. He had 16 top 10’s and 9 top 5’s. He led 24 laps. His incident count was the lowest of the 4 drivers with 3.76 and the lowest of the league that ran a minimum of 20 races. Eddie’s worst finish was Phoenix in the spring with a 26th place finish. Eddie has come on strong at the end of the season with an average finish of 5.7 in the chase race.
Good luck to all the final 4.
