Rodney Herron
Rodney Herron was born in Ohio on September 30th 1961 and finshed high school in 1981. He then went into the service serving three years in company C 501st military intelligence battalion and working in the bowling industry for a number of years. He married in 1985 to Vivian Herron in January 2000 and his step daughter lived with them until she died of cancer six months later. He was then was laid off at work just one month later so he went to collage at DeVry University.
He recieved an associate degree in 2003 in Computer and Electronic Technology and was hired as a sub contractor at Honda of America. He worked eight months as a wiring support specialist and then was laid off from that job. One week later he got a job at Wonder Bread in Columbus Ohio as a union man, four months later he was promoted to Engineering Supervisor then he bought a home for him and his wife in August 2004. In October of the same year his wife Vivian had a stroke, she came out of that just fine and he went back to work in January 2005 as a cook at the county jail. On February first his 1999 Dodge truck was stolen at his work and by February 15th his wife was diagnosed with lung cancer and passed the same year on December 9th.
Rodney dragged raced for the first time in 1998 and by 1999 he won the modified and track championship ant MCIR Marion County International Raceway, hence “mcir99champ”. His car is named Rod’s Ride and would run ten fifties with a big block Chevy. He has been around racing most of his life at the local tracks with his dad and uncles he has been playing computer Nascar racing games since the game was on four floppy disks.
This is a good fellowship, I like racing with everyone and look forward to racing all of you each night. I would like to thank everyone for all they have done for me and this league I know it takes a lot of work to run this thing I look forward to racing with all of my friends.
