Hello everybody,
My name is Greg Gummerson, on track handle – gumrunner, I am 35 yrs old and live in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. I have been married to my lovely wife Kim, for 11 years and we are blessed to have one boy and one girl aged 7 & 3 respectively.
I am employed by a firm called Relectronic – Remech Inc. that specializes in the decontamination and repair of electric and mechanical equipment after fire and flood. I have worked there for 10 years now and my main duties are IT related. Enough about work !!!
I have been around stock cars both asphalt and dirt since I was 4 years old. My dad has raced since I was a kid, in fact he still has a late model ready to roll this summer. Anyhow, we have built street stocks, Modifieds, Late models, Sprint cars, and trailers!!! When I turned 18, Dad and I built a mini sprint car that I drove at a local dirt track (very similar to the USAC Midgets- photo included) I raced for 2 1/2 years while attending college. While racing I ran the gambit, including winning two features, many heats, rookie of the year, and the two things I remember most (because I had to fix what I broke!!) one head on wreck into a concrete wall (can you say patience) and a wreck that caused me to roll several times down the back stretch (someone’s idea of payback-whew, walked away) Once I graduated from school I had to make a choice. Either live broke and continue racing or as the song goes “get a hair cut, get a real job”. Kim and I are high school sweethearts and I wanted to marry her so I decided on the job due to the fact not many Canadians make a living racing cars.
My other interests include, hockey (go figure eh!), fishing, and I really enjoy camping and canoeing with my family.
I have been racing with CR for almost a year and a half now I think each and everyone of you are great. Everyone treats each other with respect, and keeps the fact that we are only playing a game in perspective. The racing is pretty darn good too!!
#1 for me ?
