Hello, my name is Dean Howard and I am from Owensboro, Ky. I was born in 1965. I am very happily married with one son and 3 stepsons. So far my life has been wonderful. In 1982 at sixteen I started racing asphalt cars. The years went by and my last race was in 1998. Brewco Motorsports was looking to hire a few people for their Nascar racing program in late 1997. I worked for the team in the truck series in 1998 and then as a fabricator for their newly formed 2nd Nationwide (formally Busch) team with Casey Atwood behind the wheel and me changing rear tires on the Castrol GTX Chevy in 1999.
I had a son in late 1999 and decided to get off of the road. For another 8 years I was a fabricator at Brewco Motorsports maintaining and building cars for the likes of David Green, Greg Biffle, Jamie McMurray, Scott Wimmer, Jason Keller, Brad Coleman, and others. In early 2008 Brewco Motorsports was sold out and moved to Nashville, TN. I decided not to pack up the family and move. Lately I have been working as a fabricator at a plant that makes heavy structural steel items for mines and such. Also I have been trying to get my own small fabrication business off of the ground where I make aluminum items for different things such as online racing, trailers, shops, and so on.
In 1999 I bought my first computer and started racing with Nascar3. After years of real racing and then quitting cold turkey, this was my total fix and has been to this day. The year was 2001 and I joined my first team over at Team Microspeed with Del Oliver, Alan Johnson, and Burl Begley. Two years in a row we traveled to the big Likereal Lan event in Atlanta. Then in 2005 we traveled to the Christian Racing Lan event and met alot of my CR brothers. That was the best. God bless Gary Ridgeway for putting that Lan together.
I have been in about 6 or 7 racing leagues over the years. None of those can even compare to Christian Racing. This is my final stop. All here at CR have definately brought me closer to God. The fun and fellowship and helpfulness is like no other. Thank you Christian Racing for accepting me.
